The south of the state is green in a way the rest of Rajasthan is not. This route runs the lakes and the hills, and ends on the ridge at Chittorgarh.
Day by day
- Day 1 — Udaipur. Arrive. The City Palace, and the lake in the evening.
- Day 2 — Udaipur to Mount Abu. Up into the Aravallis. Dilwara, and sunset from the ridge.
- Day 3 — Dungarpur. Down through the hills to Dungarpur and the Juna Mahal.
- Day 4 — Banswara. The lakes and the old town, then north towards Chittorgarh.
- Day 5 — Chittorgarh. The fort takes half a day on its own. Depart in the afternoon.
Good to know
Mount Abu is Rajasthan’s only hill station and it is genuinely cold from December to February. Bring a layer more than you think you need.
