The Golden Triangle carried east until it reaches the river. Eight nights, with the long eastern legs taken by train rather than road.
Day by day
- Day 1 — Delhi. Arrive. Old Delhi and Humayun’s Tomb.
- Day 2 — Delhi to Jaipur. South-west by road, arriving for the evening.
- Day 3 — Jaipur. Amber, the City Palace, the bazaars.
- Day 4 — Jaipur to Agra. East, with Fatehpur Sikri on the way.
- Day 5 — Agra. The Taj at sunrise and Agra Fort after.
- Day 6 — Mathura and Vrindavan. The temples and the evening aarti.
- Day 7 — Prayagraj. East to the Sangam and the fort above it.
- Day 8 — Varanasi. On to the river. The Ganga aarti at Dashashwamedh.
- Day 9 — Varanasi. The ghats by boat at sunrise, Sarnath after, then onward.
